Four people, including a child, were killed in Russian attacks on Kyiv and the surrounding region on Saturday, according to local officials, as Ukraine continued striking Russian oil facilities.

Two grandparents and their 3-year-old grandson were killed after multiple Russian drones destroyed their home in the Brovary district of the Kyiv region, northeast of the Ukrainian capital.

Three other members of the same family and a neighbor who came to their aid were hospitalized, local authorities said. The attack reduced the house to rubble and damaged outbuildings and cars.

In Kyiv, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said at least one other person was killed in a "strike involving six ballistic missiles against civilian infrastructure."

Ukraine's air force said it had downed or intercepted 135 of 151 drones launched by Russia overnight. The attack also involved six ballistic missiles and other guided missiles.

Residents across Ukraine continue to face regular drone and missile attacks as the country's air defenses struggle to counter Russian barrages amid Moscow's full-scale invasion.

Russia has repeatedly targeted civilian areas of Ukraine, although Moscow maintains that its forces strike only military facilities.

Zelenskyy said Ukraine is facing a critical shortage of interceptors for US-made Patriot air defense systems, which he described as the only system in Ukraine's arsenal capable of shooting down ballistic missiles.

He has called on other countries, particularly the United States, to provide more ammunition for the systems. He has also proposed producing Patriot ammunition in Ukraine or receiving permission from Elon Musk to use Starlink satellite communications to guide strikes against Russian missile launchers.

Following the latest attacks, Zelenskyy appealed on X for additional sanctions to "prevent the production of these ballistic missiles," as well as "anti-ballistic capabilities" and "interceptor missiles."
